About
Paper Desk is a free website where teachers of schools, colleges, universities and academies build test and exam papers, and print or save them.
What Paper Desk is
Paper Desk turns the questions you type or paste into a neat, printable paper. You do not need to design anything. The header, the numbering, the marks and the layout are already built. You write the questions, and the paper takes shape beside you.
There is no account and no installation. It works in your web browser on a computer.
Why it exists
Preparing a paper in a word processor takes time that has nothing to do with teaching: lining up option boxes, fixing page breaks, adding up marks, and starting again when one question is changed. Many teachers do this every term, for every class.
Paper Desk takes over that work, so that the teacher's time goes to the questions themselves.
What it does
- A board-style header with the institute name and logo, subject, class, time, total marks, and blank fields for student name, roll number and section. For university papers it also has fields such as course code and semester.
- Sections of any type: MCQs, fill in the blanks, true or false, match the columns, one-word answers, short questions, long questions with parts, comprehension passages, translation, essay or letter, picture or diagram, numerical questions with working space, and rearrange or correct.
- Marks: marks per question, "attempt any N", compulsory questions, and totals added for you.
- Languages: English, Urdu (Nastaliq), or both side by side.
- Formulas: maths and chemistry formulas.
- Answer lines under questions where students write.
- Layout: a compact layout that fits many questions on a page, A4, Letter or Legal paper, and two copies on one page.
- Output: print, download a PDF, or download page pictures (PNG or JPG) as a ZIP.
- Extras: an answer key page and an OMR bubble answer sheet for MCQs.
The how to use page walks through each step, and the guides give practical advice on writing and planning papers.
How your data is treated
Your papers are saved only in your own browser, on your device, and nothing you write is uploaded. You can export a paper as a file for a backup and import it later. If you clear your browser data, the saved papers go with it, so keep a backup of papers that matter.
The site is paid for by Google ads, and may use Google Analytics to count visits. Both start only under the rules of the cookie bar, and analytics never receives the content of a paper. The Privacy Policy gives the details.
What Paper Desk is not
- It is not a question bank. It does not supply textbook questions. You bring your own, and you are responsible for their content and copyright.
- It has no accounts. Nothing is stored online, so there is no login and no cloud library of your papers.
- It is not an official board tool. It does not claim to follow any board's current paper pattern. Check your own board's or institute's scheme.
