Cookies
Paper Desk itself sets no cookies. On the live website, the Google services named in the Privacy Policy (AdSense for ads and, when switched on, Analytics for counting visits) may set their own cookies.
They follow the choice you make in the cookie bar, using Google's consent mode. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland they store no cookies until you choose "Accept"; elsewhere they may store cookies unless you choose "Decline". After "Decline", Google stores no new cookies for analytics or ads, and the ads you see are not personalised. Analytics never receives the content of your papers.
Local storage
Your browser's local storage keeps your theme choice (light or dark) and your cookie bar choice (accept or decline). These stay on your device and are not sent to us.
IndexedDB and the service worker cache
These are not cookies, but they are also kept on your device. IndexedDB holds your saved papers and the images in them. A service worker caches the site's own files so the paper maker can work offline. Neither is sent to any server. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes them, and saved papers are deleted with it.
Your choices
Use "Cookie settings" in the footer to change your choice at any time. Cookies already set stay until you clear them. You can clear this site's cookies and data in your browser settings, but remember that this also deletes your saved papers, so export the ones you need first. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings.
